Chillin' (Feline Friday) and Friendly Fill-Ins

Feline Friday was started by Steve, The Burnt Food Dude, and i'm going to believe it's because he likes cats.
He has handed hosting duties off to Sandee, of Comedy Plus, and it's simple to join, just follow the link to Sandee's page for the rules and the code.

Tripod SissyCat loves to be out on the porch in the cool of the evening.

Chillin' by the front door.

McGuffy's Reader

Friendly Fill-Ins are easy to do. There are four statements: the first two statements are provided by Ellen of 15AndMeowing, and the final two are offered by McGuffy Ann Morris of McGuffy's Reader. They try to make sure the statements will be fun to both answer and share. The linky will be posted at or about 12:00 AM on Friday. Please head over to one of their sites, link up, and share your thoughts!

My fill-ins for the statements are underlined:

Week 78: November 3, 2017:

1. My favorite part of November is                                   .

2. Every November, I                                    .

3. For me, peace                                         .

4. So far, my upcoming holiday plans                                       .

1. My favorite part of November is hard to decide.  Grandpa and Uncle J have birthdays, as does Daughter-in-Law Becky.  Plus there is Thanksgiving, and the Thanksgiving church service where the seven churches right near each other have one big get together, alternating which church is the host.  It's a joy to celebrate with everyone, no matter what "denomination" they claim.

2. Every November, i make hojaldras for Grandpa for his birthday.  Every culture has a fried sweet dough of some kind, and that is ours, and he loves it.

3. For me, peace is more than just the absence of fighting, it is the presence of love and kindness.

4. So far, my upcoming holiday plans look about the same this year as every other year.  Everyone to Grandma and Grandpa's house, where we will cook and decorate and plot and plan and eat and cook more.

  1. Mimi,

What's the story behind Tripod? Was he born with only three legs or did he have an accident? We've seen the Subway commercials announcing their specials for International Sandwich Day and I thought it was something they made up until I noticed your mention of it. Who knew, right? There are so many crazy holidays floating around! I was not familiar with hojaldras but you said it was a sweet doughnut (oops, my bad...you said dough NOT doughnut) which is something DH would love! So, I Googled it to learn this comes from Columbia or maybe it's something commonly found in other South American countries. Where is your grandpa from? Have a good weekend, my friend!

  12. Mimi, I am glad I came back. I visited on Friday, but my comment is not here! SissyCat is beautiful. We had a three-legged cat. Echo was shot by a sherrif, which shattered her leg.
I am curious about your heritage, now. Aren't hojaldras Colombian? I bet they are good! HUGS.

  13. I love your answer to #4. I sure miss those days of Thanksgiving and Christmas at Granny Gunter's house. My Gunter grandparents were separated, but we always, always, without fail, went to Granny's house for the various holiday dinners. We never had to wonder where we'd be spending this holiday or that one. That was something that I looked forward to every year. :) Granny was an awesome cook!

    I love watching Diff'rent Strokes when I was a kid. :)

I'm sorry that I was so late this time. I have been hit with the major sleepies all weekend.

    Have a blessed week!
