Who's here!?! (Awww Monday) and Sparks!

Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee, of Comedy Plus.

Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays.  Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.

Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you.  What better way to start the week than with a smile!

The other day when i went to the cat shelter, i saw this sign on the back door:

It's very unusual to see such a thing in a place that specializes in

But there they were.

Someone had tied them to the back fence.  The adult poodle was sweet and friendly enough, but the not quite fully grown pit bull was the poster dog for the saying "It's not the breed, it's the owner."  Every person who came near her was her absolute new best friend, and she wanted to do nothing but lick everyone within an inch of their lives.

A dog rescue had asked us to keep them for a day until they could find a foster home, and when the nice lady came to get them, someone made the mistake of taking them out through the building instead of out of the gate and around the building.  To say we had a cat explosion is putting it mildly, Sweetie and i had to spend almost an hour cleaning the floor and refilling the food and water bowls that had been emptied by cats in a tizzy.

All's well that ends well, though, and they are in great hands now.

  4. Mimi,

I can only imagine the chaos created by someone forgetting to take the dogs the long way around to avoid the catastrophe inside. I bet those cats were reaching for their nerve pills after that encounter. Great "Sparks". I hate that any holidays are blown up like they are making retailers more greedy and forcing families to be apart. All it takes is people staying out of the stores on Thanksgiving or on Black Friday to show retailers who's the boss. But, that's never going to happen!

  5. I am glad the dogs are safe, too bad the poor kitties had to get upset though. I love your spark, I think it is awful when stores open on Thanksgiving and even at 1 am, it stinks for the workers.

  6. I want to see photos of the "cat explosion". World Kindness Day could use a little more participation. Have a blessed week.

  7. I can't believe someone would take those dogs inside the kitty sanctuary. What were they thinking? Oh wait, they weren't.

Love your Spark and I'm with you on this.

Have a blessed Awww Monday and a day of peace. ♥

  9. I bet that was very scary for the cats to have two dogs go through. But they were such cute dogs. Have a great day.

  11. Those poor dogs--tied to a fence? But I'm glad they found a new home, and I certainly hope that it is there forever home.

  12. UGH mean people need to be tied to a fence! WHat beauties! I hope someone will love them forever and then some! Have a beautiful week! Thanks for sharing and sorry about the cats! Those felines are sure finicky about stuff! HUGS

  13. That's a great quote. I agree. And I wish all the best for shelter animals. What a disturbance to have dogs show up out of the blue! I'll have to share that story with my spouse.

  14. I am pleased that the dogs found their way to people who care. I hope they get their forever home quickly! Your Sparks for the week is one that many agree with. Thank you, Mimi. You are wonderful. Hugs.

  15. Some people don't deserve to have animals and I agree it's not the breed it's the owner :-)

    Have a wooftastic week :-)

  16. How could someone tie those dogs to a fence and leave them? I'll never understand some people. Thanks to all who are helping take care of them until they find their furever home.

  17. I hate seeing animals tied up or stuck in cages. One of my rescue dogs was in a cage for a very long time, but she has a good life, now. She roams throughout the house, runs in the yard, and sleeps between us in the bed. Such a rough life!

  18. Hope those dogs find a good home! Feel bad for all those confused kitties but glad you were there to help!

  19. It's so sad that people just drop their pets off like that. Hope they're all happy now.

  20. I hope the puppers find fur-ever homes. They look adorable. I'm with you on not letting the commercialization of the holidays overshadow the joy of the season. I, for one, will not be shopping on Thanksgiving! I have much better things to do. :-)

  21. Oh my goodness I can only imagine the chaos from those dogs but thank goodness they are going to find some good homes and the kitties will all recover. A very good thought about Thanksgiving.
