Guess We'll Just Call It The Runaround, a Random and Happy Tuesday Post

(Because some people like Blogger and some like WordPress, i am putting the same content at both.  If you would prefer to read this on the other site, it is linked here.)

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Some of you may have noticed i have been a bit remiss in commenting on blogs, sometimes being very late to the game.

There's been a ton of extra work the last two weeks.  In fact, last week i did fourteen jobs.

Besides the rental that is an ongoing project for Ms. G, our church now maintains a condo, paid for by a donor, for visiting missionaries, guest speakers, and others who might need temporary housing associated with their church duties.  One family was leaving by Friday at noon, and the next couple were coming in Saturday morning, so Ms. GA, who had company coming and wanted her house done early, got moved to Thursday afternoon after the office and Ms. S so i could fit the condo in on Friday.

Mr. Derek, one of the sextons, loaned me a vacuum cleaner from the church to use, as my vacuum is small and has a tendency to leave places smelling faintly of cat.  (How that can be with only 7 of them in this house i just do not understand.)

It was a Eureka, it had perfect above floor cleaning, a great upholstery tool, adjusted to every carpet in the place including the bath mats, and if it had had a hard floor setting, it would have seriously tempted me to commit the sin of covetousness!

An almost perfect vacuum cleaner.

All this has meant i am writing posts and checking in on yours in the odd moments i have, as well as in the evening after work when i can prop my eyes open.  Although i may be late, i will do everything i can to not disappear entirely.

The Jalopy, our former workhorse vehicle, is not quite ready to be taken out and mercifully shot, but she is certainly a weak link in the chain around here.  She can only be used for very short trips right across the highway to the store and back, and only at non-peak traffic times, for safety.

That means Lunceford the Land Yacht is getting a workout.  Yesterday, Sweetie dropped me with Dr. D, went to see The Big Boss, got cat food and ran other errands, came and got me, took me to Ms. JAI's house, went to get #1 Son and take him to physical therapy, came back and got me, dropped me at the house, went and picked son up from PT and took him to work, then finally came home.

The rest of this week may prove to be more of the same.  At some point, i'm going to need a score card to keep up.

May everyone have a wonderful and blessed Tuesday and rest of the week!

  1. Wonderful signpost. Thanks for the laugh. I feel with you on being so busy. I hope it does not continue like this for longer than your - and hubby's - stamina will last.

  2. I'm not sure "civil engineers" and "people in doubt" is the most fortunate combination... :-)

A good vacuum is a thing of beauty, indeed.
    I share your wistfulness.

  4. Mimi,

Life gets busy. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed as I prepare for the A2Z event. I like your approach to the blogfest in an unofficial capacity and while I thought about doing that I felt for sure I'd give up if I did, so I had to commit to it or forget it. :) Have a great day! Oh yeah, I love that traffic sign! :)

  5. Wow Mimi! You work so hard. When do you find time to rest and 7 cats? Oh my. I've been trying to get my wife to change her car. It has 135 thousand and she just brought it in for an tire checkup and oil change. I would like her to have a not so new car.
She won't listen to me. LOL See ya.

  9. Well, here's hoping that the rigs hold out, you are able to get all and everything taken care of. And I have no idea why there would be a problem with the vacuum smelling faintly of cat. Sort of like my black coat looking off grey with cat hair. Isn't that normal? No? Oh... eep.
