Little Swimmers (Awww Monday), Inspiring Quote of the Week, and Mosquitoes (Poetry Monday)

(Because some people like Blogger and some like WordPress, i am putting the same content at both.  If you would prefer to read this on the other site, it is linked here.)

Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays.  Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.

Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you.  What better way to start the week than with a smile!

My favorite awww at the beach is families and children.  It reminds me of us back in the day.  (These photos are not the best, i try not to get faces of people i don’t know.)

Sparks, the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, is on hiatus, so here's an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

Delores and her friend Jenny are taking turns providing a theme for Poetry Monday, and i am trying my hand at participating.  This weeks theme is Mosquitoes.

Mosquitoes buzz and mosquitoes bite
And i think that it’s just plain right
The happy fact is they don’t reach
And bite us down here on the beach!

(It’s true, i’ve never been bitten by a mosquito while down at the beach on vacation!)

  1. You have never been bitten by a squito on the beach?
Camped on the beach one night I was savaged. Eyelids and lips were the worst.
I hope that your vacation is blissful.

  2. Mosquitos are rife on the beach at Port Pirie as soon as the sun goes down, the only way to stay unbitten is go home or stay in the water.
I love seeing babies and toddlers learning about water.

  3. Mosquitoes are fewer on the beach, but as I'm their dinner of choice I don't much get to enjoy this fact. I like your poem anyway.

  4. Mimi,

Many of my aww moments are from my days gone past of my kiddies. How I miss those times, too! We've only been on the beach a few times over the years but I don't remember one way or the other about mosquitoes biting but that's interesting that they don't bite as much near the water. I thought it would be the opposite. Have an awwwesome week!
