Momism (Six Sentence Story), Good Fences, Sammy’s Poetry Day and Brian’s Thankful Thursday

 ***********************************

He'd called to ask when i would be home while i was out with Ms. G, and we were going to be busy for quite some time.

He was not pleased, and my response was simply i could not help it, i was at work, and would be home when the work was finished.

Once the conversation was through, Ms. G was all questions, as she always is, and a funny thought went through my head.

It was a "mom line," something a mom might think or even say to a child or teen who is taking an attitude.

"Don't look at me in that tone of voice!"

Not something i ever said to my own kids, but it would certainly break the tension.

Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Tone.

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day This week's image and my poem:

You say I'll understand you better

if I walk a mile in your shoes.

Well, if I walk a whole mile in these things,

my poor feet will be singing the blues!

Angel Brian's Family of Brian's Home - Forever hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.   It's time to share something for which i am thankful.

Today i am thankful my eye doc says my eye is doing great, unless i am having any trouble, he will see me next year for an annual eye exam.  He also said i am seeing 20/25 for distance in my right eye and 20/25 for up close with my left, which is just a hair short of perfect.

I love your poem, and feel sad for the fence to the rigth. It must feel bad, looking at the neighbour. I hope it has some kids loving it and dragging sticks along it.

  6. Mom forgot about that saying don't look at me in that tone of voice. That was a good one. She doesn't remember who used it but it was one to cause some amusement.
