A Random and Happy Word Counters Tuesday Featuring Our Own Dr. D

***********************************

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus

Part of today’s post is also a writing challenge. This is how it works: contributing bloggers each picked a number between 12 and 74. The submitted numbers were then assigned to other bloggers challenged with writing at least one piece using that exact number of words.
I was assigned the word count number: 44
It was submitted by:  On The Border

At the end of this post you’ll find links to the other blogs featuring this challenge. Check them all out, see what numbers they got and how they used them.

My counted words, a story of Dr. D in seven parts:

Dr. D, as stated before, is involved in several lawsuits.  She has been fighting these for the better part of 10+ years.  Thus my saying she can get into more trouble in a week than most people do in a year or a lifetime.

One involves the comedy of errors that was the fire department response to her house fire, including no answer to her 911 call, having the wrong equipment to hook up to the fire hydrant, and taking 2 hours to get a water truck there.

This was followed by the incomplete reconstruction of the house by the crooks who robbed her while building for her.  This explains, partially, why the house is in such a state.  Not totally, some of it is she just won’t get rid of anything.

Having to hire another attorney when the first botched the suit made it worse.  That first attorney then tried to sue her, but she had proof of his neglect, so he quietly dropped it to prevent a counter suit.  He knows she would, too.

Finally, things were looking up.  The case went to mediation.  The mediator made a decision.  The state closed for the virus.  The mediator sent his decision to the city council, which has the final say if she gets anything.  They quit meeting.  Until now.

Last night, the city council had their virtual meeting, and her case was on their agenda.  They looked at what the mediator said about it, and decided to go with his full recommendation.  They will pay, and have sent it to the budget office.

Dr. D will finally get a check — one third to the attorney, plenty to repair the house and then stash a bit away for emergencies.  Also, she is considering shredding the fire paperwork, since the court has all the pertinent info in their records!!!

And I have to say that although we all no this virus is no joke, the memes that have sprung are really are pretty funny.
