Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.

We are planning for Mother's Day next weekend, and asking Grandma what she could actually use as a gift is not easy.  She finally let me order her some fun art stuff online.  She had to pick what she wanted, since i wouldn't have a clue.

Out in front Boudreaux' house dere be de big, big statue o' de Guardin' Angel.  It gots big wings an' it be tall, it be de bigges' garden statue in de whole o' dat bayou.

Well, it done be dere fo' many year, an' young Tee never done t'ink 'bout it much, but den one day he go stan' in front de statue, an' Boudreaux done see him an' come over.  Tee done ax, "Père, what fo' we gots such a big statue in de yard?"

An' Boudreaux say, "It be because you Great-Gran-Mère an' Great-Gran-Père.  You Great-Gran-Père done overhear Great-Gran-Mère say she want her de halo statue, an' it be her birthday soon, so he goes him to the priest.

"He done tole de priest dat Great-Gran-Mère want her de halo statue, an' it be her birthday comin', an' could de priest he'p him get her a nice, big statue fo' de garden.

"Well, de priest he done say he goin' he'p, he goin' order de statue an' have it deliver an' Great-Gran-Père can jes' pay him when it come.

"De day befo' her birthday, de statue come in, in de great big crate, an' it done take Great-Gran-Père an' t'ree o' hims frien's to get it out an' in de place in de garden, an' it be de bigges' an' de bes' garden statue enny o' dem ever done see.

"Den Great-Gran-Mère come home, an' she be so surprise!  She be jes' smilin', an' she done say it be de mos' beautiful  statue she ever done see."

"An' Great-Gran-Père say, 'Dis be jes' what you want fo' you birthday, right?'

"An' Great-Gran-Mère say, 'Oh, it be beautiful, an' I love it, an' I be's glad you done gots it an' I wants to keep it, but it not be exactly what I was t'inkin' 'bout.'

"So Great-Gran-Père ax, 'Din't you want de halo statue?'

"An' Great-Gran-Mère say, 'Mais, I was t'inkin' 'bout one dem boxes on de wall dat it ring and you pick up an' you say, "Hay-lo, 'stat you?"'"
