29 (Six Sentence Story), Good Fences, Sammy’s Poetry Day, and Brian’s Thankful Thursday

 ***********************************

It is not a strain to say some weeks of the year are harder to get through because of the memories associated with the dates.

This is one of those weeks.

Yesterday, [<—link] if things had turned out differently, we would have celebrated her 29th birthday.

Instead, i simply went to work as if nothing had ever happened.

But it did.

The biggest strain is simply staying silent and doing what needs to be done, anyway.

Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Strain.

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day This week's image and my poem:

There really is no need to stare,

We should all tone our derrière!

*******

My buddy and I work out together,

sometimes indoors, because of the weather.

Sometimes we're outside, but either way,

we strive to stay fit, every day.

Brian of Brian's Home hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.   It's time to share something for which i am thankful.

Today i am thankful Ebenezer, a cat at the shelter, having a very hard time adjusting, has mostly quit hissing at me and even gave me a slow blink back when i carefully changed his water and talked to him very softly and slow blinked to him.

  1. That's a very sad story, I can't imagine going through all that and then having more children. I'm a big fan of contraception.

  4. Awww, huge hugs to you. Staying silent and holding it all in for yourself is so hard. That is when Mom says we pups are the best because she can talk to us about it, cry on us, and cuddle with us. Sorry for that sadness you have to carry.

  6. Sometimes we hold in the pain because it seems overwhelming. Other times we find there are those who can, sometimes, share it and ever-so-slightly diminish the ache.

  11. Big hugs, Mimi. I hadn't known about your child-bearing problems or your precious unborn daughter who you lost. I'm so sorry for your loss. Life can be awfully hard, especially on the days we feel alone in our pain. Thinking of you, my friend.

  14. Love both of your poems - especially the "couplet" - you are so talented my friend. I also took time to read the story of the loss of your unborn daughter - I can't tell you how it touched me.....I was unable to have children due to cancer at an early age but I could feel your frustration, confusion, pain, longing, disappointment your descriptions of feelings was so clear and poignant. There are times in our lives when we simply don't understand why things have gone in the direction they do.....I've felt that many times myself. I just tell myself because it taught me something about life and most of all about ME. Thanks for sharing........and thanks for being our friend at One Spoiled Cat.

    Love, Pam (and Teddy)
