Sunscreen and a Good Polish for the Guests, a Random and Happy Tuesday Post

 ***********************************

A blessed and beautiful Happy Independence Day to all who celebrate, and to all others, Happy Tuesday!

***********************************

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.  http://stacyuncorked.com

Sunday evening, i got a call from Ms. V, Carl's mother.

"Isn't this the week you come clean the rest of the house on Thursday?" she asked me.

I answered in the affirmative and she said, "Well, we need a change of plan.  We're having company on Tuesday and we want them to know we at least try to keep the house clean, so could you clean the front of the house tomorrow, then do Carl's room on Thursday along with the back part of the rest of the house?"

Of course, i can do that.  I can also, as i promised her, chivvy Carl into putting on his sunscreen before he leaves the house.

Arriving at my usual time, i found Carl about to have breakfast.  Apron! i said, and grabbed the nearest one, a pink, flowery affair of his mother's instead of one of his more manly red or green, and got it on him just before he dripped milk into his lap.  That was close.

Do you have your sunscreen on? was my next comment to him, and he replied, "Working on it."

We talked about the church service Sunday, how uplifting it was.  He fussed about how his parents won't let him drive alone at night.  "I'm old enough, I should be allowed to go out at night!" he said.

I murmured something sympathetic, and then asked about sunscreen again.  "Working on it!" he said again, and turned back to his tea.

My first order of business was to scrub and polish the bathroom countertop.  It's scrubbed regularly, but only polished a few times a year and i figured with company coming, this was a good time.

When i came out, it was five minutes from make Carl leave time and he was scrolling on his phone.

Sunscreen! i said as i passed him, then added, Now!  Scoot!  He scooted, and got out on time.  How much sunscreen was actually on him i cannot guarantee, but i'm not going to supervise anyone i'm not married to that closely, thankyouverymuch.

Especially when i'm old enough to be his mother.

Anyway, he has a new trick.  I couldn't find the clean cups for the hall bathroom, and finally went to check his room.  Sure enough.

He has decided he likes them.  They will need to buy more.

By the time i went to my next client, all the common areas of the house were tidy and polished to a guest-worthy sheen.  They only have to keep it up, in spite of Carl living there, for 24 hours.

In honor of guests, some funnies.

Have a blessed and beautiful Tuesday, everyone!
