There are always a lot of blessings to be thankful for on Thankful Day, but this week seemed especially full.
We've known for a long time my computer was on its last legs as it is always telling me there's no storage left and it's slow as molasses in January. While i've saved up some, it's always been a race to see if i'd have enough if it became critical.
(Not that having a computer is critical. Air, water, food, housing, clothing, those are critical. A computer is a very, very nice blessing beyond what's really needed, which is why i was content to wait and make due with whatever i have.)
Sweetie has been asking people for a couple of months now if they or anyone they know is getting rid of an older model that still has some life in it yet, as i do not mind buying something gently used. He happened to ask #2 Son last week on Friday, after i'd gotten back from my shift at the shelter.
I was about to turn off my computer and head to bed when #2 Son texted me and said, "Wait up for me, I'm 15 minutes away." I propped my eyes open and he walked in with a new-to-me computer! His Bride's new job provided her all new equipment, and this one is still excellent and should suffice for years and years.
Saturday was another comedy of errors on the food ordering, but i'm thankful the restaurant is not far and they take phone orders so i was able to simply go pick everything up.
I'm also thankful i was able to still get the cleaning done in spite of the time spent out of the house.
Sunday was a beautiful day and i managed to start working on setting up the computer. There were a couple of password problems where i had to reset them (i stay signed in and just could not remember them), but it all worked out and i'm very thankful for this and for having the passwords noted and logged now.
July 1, i forgot my blog anniversary! I'm thankful, though, for this "outlet."
It was also the day i found out i won an Amazon gift card from The Cat Blogosphere! They have a drawing once a month. I'm thankful i found it in the email junk folder after i refreshed it. https://blog.catblogosphere.com/
Ms. S and i had a fun time once i was done cleaning Monday. She and i really enjoy our talks and i'm thankful for great clients.
While i did have to work Tuesday afternoon at Kevin and Lenny's, i was thankful for the morning off to start the day at a much slower pace than my usual.
Ms. G and i ran the roads on Wednesday and i'm very thankful she treated me to lunch as a place called Salad Station. It was quite refreshing, since usually i do not eat at all until i get home in the evening.
Independence Day was celebrated with work, as it usually is, since my clients really don't want to have to go without a cleaning and i'm thankful to have the work and the money which goes with it.
We're thankful we got some rain that day, but not enough to dampen everyone holiday. I'm also thankful the fireworks weren't so plentiful as to keep us from going to sleep or scare the cats.
Also, while i was doing Ms. V's place, Ms. GA texted me.
She was off that day and was cleaning her house, since all of our prayer group was coming over there the next morning instead of meeting at the church. She told me she'd decided to not just clean the places people would see, but to do the whole house and pay me anyway and let me have Friday off!
That's a real thankful, a day off with pay. It doesn't happen when you own the business and you either work and get paid, or don't work and don't get paid.
We did have a lovely breakfast Friday morning and a wonderful prayer meeting at their house, then i got to simply run errands and go home! It was blissful.
The cat shelter is busy, we're thankful for very few sick cats, lots of helpers, and some adoptions.
Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Dyanne and her co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.
