A Client's Husband Thinks It Will Fit, Decorated and All (Wordless Wednesday) and Words For Wednesday)

Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts that encourages us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.

This month, the prompts are being provided by lissa at The Memory of Rain

 This week's prompts are:

The sounds of a thunderstorm

And/or

1. it's going to rain today
2. chasing storms
3. umbrellas
4. charmed
5. a long journey
6. trains

"It's going to rain today," husband said.

"I have no objection," wife answered.

"We haven't done anything fun in a while," husband said.  "How about if we take umbrellas and see if we can go chasing storms like we used to?"

"No need to chase," wife noted as a peal of thunder was followed by the sounds of a downpour.  "How about instead we plan a long journey, taking the trains."

"Yes, we could do that," husband agreed.

"We used to live a charmed life," wife said, "even when we had work we took time out to travel and enjoy things, and now we've retired and gotten slothful.  A trip would be a nice change."

"Agreed.  We will plan a trip, and to be daring, bring no umbrellas!"

  1. Not sure that tree will fit. We leave our tree whole with the lights but take the ornaments off when we put it to bed in the basement every January.

  2. A bit of shoving and pushing and in it will go!

  3. Nope, I don't think the tree will fit, not even if you break it down. I could celebrate a little hot and spicy food. Hello Dolly premiered on this date in 1964 and the star of the show passed away yesterday.

  4. I wonder if it will. Will there be a repost to see if it fit? I'm thinking so.

Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

  9. Unlikely, but considering where I ended up stuffing my (still decorated) tree for this year (you know the one,) I place no bets... ;-)

  10. "retired and gotten slothful" sounds just like me. I love that hall closet, just the perfect place to hang coats and store boots.
I like your story, planning a long train ride, but they may regret the no umbrellas part.
