It Just Happened, That's All (Six Sentence Story) and Sunbeams (Good Fences)

(Because some people like Blogger and some like WordPress, i am putting the same content at both.  If you would prefer to read this on the other site, it is linked here.)

You can call it fate or destiny or whatever you want, it really came down to the fact that i was getting equipment out of the car, and Sweetie went to the door first.

He rang the bell to let the clients know we were there, and even from the car i could hear the dog was barking before the door opened.

Henri, the Bichon Frise, apparently doesn't like the doorbell, and barks even when he hears one on TV.

He pushed his way past the door as soon as it was opened and defended his territory, biting Sweetie's leg; the very thick jeans he was wearing protected him, but one tooth actually caused the denim material to scratch his skin, without the tooth even penetrating the material.

A bit of rubbing alcohol and a band-aid was all that was needed, and it has scabbed and is healing well.

The clients were more upset than we were, and Henri let both of us pet him once he calmed down, he's really a good dog, just excitable when he hears the doorbell.

Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Destiny.

Gosia, of Looking for Identity, has taken over Good Fences, and it's now Good Fences Around The World.  Post a picture of a fence or gate, link back to her blog, and go visit other blogs to see what interesting fences there are out in this big world.

It wasn't so much the fence as the sunbeams that made even an old fence look more interesting than it usually is:

  3. I was bitten by a friend's dog the same way your Sweetie was bitten. I had a blue black on the thigh. Good thing I was wearing a thick jeans too. I like the sun beam shading the fence.

  4. That was a good story, except for the ouchie part of course. Hey, we don't like the doorbell on TV either.

  5. Sorry about Sweeties bite. Glad it wasn't bad.

We used to tease my brother's dog. We would pull up youtube videos of the doorbell ringing just to make the dog run to the door. At some point, the dog caught onto what we were doing and would just look at us when we tried to play the trick on him again. It was fun while it lasted though. :)

Good that it wasn't more serious.

  8. Yikes on that almost bite. I'm glad it didn't turn into something more serious. Bog bites are very painful.

Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. ♥

  9. Poor Sweetie. Glad it wasn't a bad bite. Poor Henri was just doing what he thought was his duty.

The pics captured a beautiful effect as the sunbeams highlight the old rickety fence.

  10. Ow! Barking dogs are scary! You don't quite know what to expect - are they friendly or mean! Thank goodness the bite was not serious. Makes you wonder what happened to Henri that he reacts so to the sound of a doorbell??

    Hope the recovery was fast.

  15. Some dogs need to be desensitized to the sound of doorbells. Mine stopped getting upset but never did stop barking.
