Kinship, Twinship (Six Sentence Story), Good Fences, Sammy's Poetry Day, and Brian's Thankful Thursday

***********************************

Sweetie and Brother-in-Law are identical twins, best friends, worst frenemies, and their sibling rivalry can be summed up in one insult which they often trade freely.

When they've been too much together and are getting on each other's nerves, listen in, it's time.

One will look at the other sideways and say, "Yeah, well, you're ugly!"

The response comes quickly, "You're mother's ugly!" followed by raucous laughter on the part of both of them.

One friend once asked Sweetie, "Don't you realize you are insulting yourself when you say that?"

To which he replied, "Of course, but I don't care, as long as my brother gets his licks in, too!"

Gosia at Looking for Identity has taken over Good Fences, and it's now Good Fences Around The World.  Post a picture of a fence or gate, link back to her blog, and go visit other blogs to see what interesting fences there are out in this big world.     gosiablogs.blogspot.com

This back yard fence and gate caught my fancy.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day!  This week's image and my poem:

I've been around the world, dear friends,

I've had adventures grand.

But I can tell you back home

Is the best place you'll ever land.

For when the storms are raging,

And hatches caving in,

You think of all your loved ones,

And want to see them again.

The love of home doesn't stop you

From wanting to wander far,

It just makes you appreciate

When at home you are.

Brian of Brian's Home hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.   It's time to share something for which i am thankful.

We are thankful to have Coda with us for a while as Little Girl is on orders.  It's always a joy to have a well-behaved dog for a week or so.

That fence does catch your eye!
Love your poem's sentiment. True for me. No matter the lure of "somewhere else", there's nowhere quite like home.
Well behaved is definitely a plus 😁
