Right Busy Week, a Ten Things of Thankful and A to Z Post

I'm running for Thankful Day after a right busy week.  It didn't start out to be that way, but thus it goes and being able to keep up is a thankful thing.

Grandpa had errands to run last week, so i stayed a good half hour later than usual visiting with Grandma while he wasn't there to fuss and chase me out, and we were both thankful.

Sunday morning, Becca and i took Mr. Cal for his walk and for the first time ever we were not passed by a single car the whole time!  I was very thankful for the quiet, we were able to hear the birds and enjoy the still morning.

This past weekend was the Friends of the Library used book sale, and i went for an hour after church.  I was a good girl and restrained myself, only spending the bit of cash i had in my pocket.  Never before have i bought so little there, but I was thankful to get there at all and thankful to find a book as a gift to Becca, when we are done reading the Winnie the Pooh series, we'll read this collection of fairy tales.

Monday morning i got a call from Ms. D telling me her sister was in town and asking if she could reschedule.  This meant either giving up part of my day off Tuesday (my first real day off this month), or shoot for Wednesday after Ms. G.  I was thankful she agreed we'd try on Wednesday.

I was thankful for Tuesday, Sweetie had work with The Big Boss at the farm and was gone most of the day while i got to stay home and rest.

Wednesday hit the ground running and never slowed, for which i was thankful as it didn't give me time to think, just do.  I did the shelter, the other small volunteer job i do, then went to Ms. G's.  She wasn't home, surprise, surprise -- not.  As is typical with her life there is a current problem or crisis.

I'm thankful i don't have her life, but thankful to be able to help her.  The place she's readying for sale has several areas that haven't had loving attention in a long, long time.  I'm thankful for two products, the first being Ring King (and no, i do not represent the company).  It accomplished round one of the cleaning of the old, tired bathtubs.

Then i went to Ms. D's house as i'd promised and got what she needed done while her A/C guy was there servicing the unit.  He and i left at the same time and her place was squared away, thankfully.

Ms. SE's place always has a challenge for us, this time it was a dead dishwasher and the necessity of doing the rest of the dishes by hand.  I'm thankful Sweetie is a fast, efficient dishwasher and between the two of us we got it knocked out.

I'm also thankful i took both Cookie and the new pup, Emmie, out often enough that this time Emmie didn't have any accidents.

The extra time spent washing dishes meant we went long on the job, but i was thankful to get done just in time to meet Ms. G for round two at the place she's readying for sale.  It was only a few blocks from Ms. SE's place and i was thankful i managed to find it, Sweetie dropped me there and came home.

This time, armed with both Ring King and a new to me product Ms. G had acquired called "Bring It On!" (again, i'm not paid to advertise for them and make no money for mentioning it), we got the tubs almost pristine except for the places the porcelain has worn through and the stainless steel sink looks like new.

When i went outdoors to clean the bathroom window and tripped on a tree root, i'm thankful it was a soft fall in dirt and leaves that wasn't witnessed and only hurt my pride.

I'm very thankful to have survived two days of a very heavy workload.

A couple of weeks ago, i found out i am one of the lucky people whose data has been stolen from yet another data breach of a big company.  Yesterday i received an email, purportedly from that company about my order for a change in service.

I'm thankful such things make me suspicious and scare me enough to get on another device, sign in to my account directly via their website not through a link, and get live help to chat with someone and make sure it's just a phishing/spam email.  It was.

As usual, i'm thankful for Friday evening at the cat shelter again, it's a joyful place to be.

Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Dyanne and her co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.
