Feline Friday was originally started by Steve, The Burnt Food Dude (who no longer blogs), and i'm going to believe it's because he likes cats.
He handed hosting duties off to Sandee at Comedy Plus, and now she's entrusting it to me.
Feline Friday is simple to join. All you have to do is: Post a picture, drawing, cartoon or video of a cat (they may be silly or cute). Then add your link!
One thing for sure is this is a fun and easy meme to do. So come and join us in Feline Friday.
What better way to start the weekend than with a feline!
This is Warrior Cat. She weighs all of 3 pounds and is over a year old. She was part of a feral colony, was TNRed (trapped, neutered/spayed, released) over six months ago and the people who managed the colony knew she was at least 6 months old then.
Because of her life among ferals, she didn't get enough nutrition and this is as big as she is going to get. Her fur is sun-bleached, but she is at least proportional, some unlucky cats that suffer malnutrition from kittenhood are not. Her very survival marks her as a Warrior.
She was also blessed, despite her rough outdoor, feral life, to have a sweet disposition and an enjoyment of people. She's now been rescued from that life and found a home almost immediately after she became available for adoption.
Many of the photos are blurry (she wanted petting!) so these are also part of Pet Photo Fails hosted by Melissa's Mochas, Mysteries & Meows.

Friendly Fill-Ins are easy to do. There are four statements: the first two statements are provided by Ellen of 15AndMeowing, and the final two are offered by Lorianne The Menagerie Mom of Four-Legged Furballs. They try to make sure the statements will be fun to both answer and share. The linky will be posted at or about 12:00 AM on Friday. Please head over to one of their sites, link up, and share your thoughts!
Here are this week's statements with my responses underlined:
1. I find _________ offensive.
2. _________ is a good way to make some extra cash.
3. _________ makes me feel like I can accomplish anything.
4. I could see myself naming a cat or dog _________.
1. I find people choosing to look for reasons to be offended when none are meant offensive.
2. Going to work is a good way to make some extra cash. Sometimes I listen to Dave Ramsey and his grandmother had it right, a surefire way to make some money is to go to work, it's that simple.
3. Achieving a goal, such as having taxes done before a certain date or meeting a deadline I've set for myself in another area makes me feel like I can accomplish anything.
4. I could see myself naming a cat or dog almost any name that isn't vulgar or rude, and the funnier, the better.

Warrior may fill out at least a little once adopted and getting regular meals and care. My Lola looked similar when I adopted her though she was just over 5 pounds, she now weighs 8 pounds. I hope Warrior finds the best forever home she can get.
ReplyDeleteWarrior cat is definitely a survivor. And I love that she now demands pats.
ReplyDeleteOh, I so agree with you on fill-in number one.
ReplyDeleteWarrior cat does look to be a sweet little thing. I like your feelings, I agree about meeting deadlines like taxes and other things that just must be done on time.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Warrior Cat is getting the care she needs. A kitty has be tough to survive among so many others. It's such a shame there are not enough good homes for these poor critters to go to and that there's such a problem. It's just sad! Work is not only a good way to earn money but to make a person feel good about him/herself. When people live off the government who otherwise could be contributing in the workforce lose all self respect for themselves and then become slaves to a system that just keeps pushing them further down. That's really sad. Nothing is life is free, there's always a cost. Have a furtastic weekend, Mimi!
ReplyDeleteThat poor kitty, being so small and having such an awful start to life. Hopefully with a new home and lots of love she will flourish and live a healthy, happy life moving forward.
ReplyDeleteWarrior Cat is gorgeous, and we're thrilled she found a home! Many years ago the P.A. adopted a former colony cat 'Mildred Marbles' and she was the same at W.C., like a six month old kitten at 2+ years old. She was tiny, but she could eat for 5 cats daily! MOL
ReplyDeleteAww! Warrior cat good to hear she's getting on ok now hope she finds a loving home she deserves it
ReplyDeleteHve a warriortastic week and thanks for hosting 👍

Aw. Warrior Cat has my heart. I always have a soft spot for strays. My four cats were strays, born outside to a mama cat who I kept an eye on. She would bring them to me when they were itty-bitty babies, so they'd know I was safe, and when she disappeared, they kept coming to me. I took them into my house, and I've had them for over ten years. <3
ReplyDeleteShe is so tiny and adorable. I am glad she has a home of her own now.
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute cat!

ReplyDeleteI love those fill in answers and I LOVE little Warrior Cat. I am so happy she has a new home. I used my same answers for the fill in's on my two blogs. I had posted about a friend and former blogger who passed away so the day was sad and then I lost my phone. It is in my house but no one can tell me where so it has been a day I will be happy to put to bed. I know the battery must need a charge so there is that too. Have a great weekend and keep doing what you do, you are such a gem. Happy weekend too.
