Down Side (Cajun Joke), Sunday Selections and Sunday Selfie

 ***********************************

Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.

Grandpa is still refusing to wear his hearing aid, and Grandma is still fussing at him about it, especially when she calls for him and he doesn't hear her.

Grand-père Boudreaux done be mad dat dey be tellin' him he need de hearin' aid.  He be fussin' de rest o' dem jes' mumble, but de hearin' test don' lie so he done order him de hearin' aid.

Grand-mère done tole him, "It be great, you be goin' hear it when de chillins talkin' at you now!"

An' Grand-père done say, "Mias, oui, but it means I's also goin' have start listen agin' when Fr. Gaston done give de homily at mass on Sunday!"

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files.  The rules have been relaxed, and it is now simply a showcase for your photos, new or old, good or bad, although nothing rude, please.  It was hosted by River, who still participates, and is now hosted by Elephant's Child.

Artwork from a different school our church sponsors, a couple of things that caught my eye, and sky shots, because that's what i had time to take.

This week, Little Orphan Annie wants to join the Kitties Blue at The Cat On My Head for their Sunday Selfies Blog Hop.  She calls this her "I am very shy and one laser is on" selfie.  Annie is one of the most shy cats Mr. BA and Ms. GA have.  Until very recently, I'd only ever seen her tail disappearing around a corner and now she will cautiously come eat when i am catsitting.

  3. One advantage of having a hearing aid must be the ability to turn it off! Love the art pictures, I clicked to enlarge them - the one of the pots of flowers is gorgeous!

  9. Oh, my. That joke reminds me of our neighbors. They were in their late 80's, early 90's when we first moved in. They were faithful church goers. We were near them in church, and he, even with his hearing aid, didn't really hear too well. He had dozed off during the service. She poked him in the ribs... "Hallelujah!" He pipes up. She told him to turn up his hearing aid. Dutifully, he did.
    SQEEEEALLLL!
After a few minutes of this, one of the ushers tapped HER on the shoulder, and whispered something. Next thing, she's telling him to turn DOWN the hearing aid!!!
I love those photos! And pretty shy kitty, good that it's warming up to you!

  13. Hearing aids are good when you have trouble hearing! I know it's hard for some folks to accept them but if you can get them to try, they will be so happy! I worked for an ENT doctor for 14 years. I was sad someone said they cannot view my Phamily Blog because it blocks them. It is so aggravating. But I had some inappropriate comments and when trying to delete them I accidentally deleted one of yours. I am so sad and so sorry. I just do not like those spammers. Makes me sad. I have searched to fix that blogger who is blocked but can not find anything that shows anyone blocked. It is so frustrating. But I enjoy you and your blog and comments. The kids art, W O W ! Kids are so talented. You never know when another Picasso or Monet will appear. Thank you for sharing.

  16. Charlee: "I'm with Little Orphan Annie! If there's someone at the house who I don't know, you can count on me to be under the sofa the entire time."
Lulu: "Our Dada got hearing aids last summer for high-frequency hearing loss! Unlike a lot of people we've heard about, he wears his practically all the time. He says everyone is fine with wearing glasses, why not hearing aids?"
