Fortunate (Cajun Joke), Sunday Selections and Sunday Selfie

 ***********************************

Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.

Yesterday, Grandma wanted lunch from a local Chinese restaurant.  She's a big fan of egg drop soup and fried wontons.  And fortune cookies, don't forget the fortune cookies, although she's not so sure about the fortunes.

Grand-père Boudreaux an' hims son, Boudreaux, done be havin' de lunch at de Chinese restaurant an' Grand-père reach fo' hims fortune cookie an' say, "Lessee what my fortune be today!"

An' Boudreaux say, "Grand-père, you don' believe in de fortune, do you?"

An' Grand-père say, "It depen' on what it be.  Dis one say, 'Make it your mission to encourage everyone who crosses your path today.'

An' Boudreaux say, "Dat don' be much of a fortune."

An' Grand-père say, "Mais, I be goin' encourage you not ta cross my path today, I might could run over you wit' my walker!"

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files.  The rules have been relaxed, and it is now simply a showcase for your photos, new or old, good or bad, although nothing rude, please.  It was hosted by River, who still participates, and is now hosted by Elephant's Child, who is taking a blog break.

It's Carnival Time.

This week, Lulu wants to join the Kitties Blue at The Cat On My Head for their Sunday Selfies Blog Hop.

She is not doing well, losing weight, and she wouldn't pose for long.

That was her selfie, but i have a better picture of her close up to you can see her beautiful face.

Although tomorrow is the official NEA Read Across America Day for schools, today is the birth anniversary of Dr. Seuss!

  7. I still have a large collection of beads...I brought them back each Mardi Gras I was there. I loved going in the stores too, and buying things. Have some CD's of Zydeco music and singing...I think my favorite is Oh Madame...but can't think who sang it, to its actual name for sure. Have to go get it out of the car.
