The Plenty, a Ten Things of Thankful Post

 ***********************************

It's been a week of nothing huge, but plenty anyway, all of it fuel for gratitude and thankfulness.

#2 Son has had another birthday, and i'm thankful for him.

Last week, the unthinkable happened, i lost a set of keys to a client's house.  They are not labeled with an address, so i wasn't worried about anyone finding them and using them for burglary, it's just so frustrating when i am so very careful to keep them all in a key bag in a safe place always.

I was thankful the client understood and was able to get me a set to copy, then even more thankful when the first set turned up, having fallen out of my pocket into the clothes hamper!  Of course, landing on clothing, they didn't clink or make noise, i'm thankful they alerted me to their presence when i took the dirty clothes out of the hamper and they landed on the floor.

Grandma seems to have relented and let us go back to our previous cleaning schedule, the one which was working so well, and i'm thankful not to have to fight with Grandpa to let us clean his room (he hates having anyone messing in his room so we have to do it while he's at church).

Little Annie continues to charm and amuse us.  She's been very interested in anything people around her are eating, and i was thankful i had some very ripe avocados, since that's her current favorite.

She loves avocado and came by it honest.

We're thankful the 6-month check-up went well, the little nugget is 17 1/2 pounds!

I'm also thankful to get to see her a couple of times a week at least.

Ms. V was having A/C duct work done in her bedroom and i'm thankful i was able to take a few minutes out of tending Carl's room to give hers a good dusting, as she'd moved some things behind which there were dust bunnies lurking.  She wanted the stuff out of the way for the workers and she was not keen on having them see the build-up (not that they would care, but she did).

Monday evening was another very enjoyable ladies' circle meeting, with good food and good fellowship for which to be thankful.

The cat shelter is in its down time right now, between one kitten season and another.  We're thankful for the break, there's plenty of time to catch up on work which doesn't get done when every cage is full.

Ms. G's back yard had dried from the recent rain and i didn't get my shoes soaked when i cleaned some cat items outdoors with the hose and i was very thankful, as i'd forgotten my rubber boots.

Work has been going, well, like clockwork, and i'm thankful.  No drama is a good thing.

Also, one curious thing happened.  Our pastor writes a Lent devotional book, as in, 175-225 pages bound books, and they are distributed to the congregation with plenty of extras to share.  The first one i got, as i was flipping through, had a flaw, it had the first 3 weeks of devotions, then in the second half of the book, it repeated the first 3 weeks!

I was thankful to find out now, instead of opening the book the morning i needed the next reading and finding out it wasn't there.  I got another book, it was fine, the full book.  I've checked with the people i've given books to, theirs are all good.

I'm thankful the funny, amusing and silly things like this happen to me, it makes me smile.

Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Clark and his co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.

  1. I'm sure you felt much better finding the keys even though no one could have used them. It's just that responsibility that a person has for something important. That baby sure is growing and I guess we won't be able to call her a baby much longer will we. Happy Saturday

  2. Those were all really good and hooray for the jingle of the keys!

  3. That is nice of your pastor to make the Lenten reading books. Our church gives some out, but they are mass produced. Still affective, but not as personal. Annie is such a beautiful baby. XO

Thank goodness those keys were found! Funny about the book with the repeat verses.
