We're getting closer to having #2 Son, His Bride (D-i-L) and little Annie right in our back yard.
The week has gone very well. Last Saturday was supposed to be the St. Patrick's Day parade for this area, but the prediction was for one of those monsoon style storms to come through right in the middle of the day.
They postponed until Sunday, which meant Becca and i were thankful to see all the floats being transported to the start location while we were on our way to church Sunday morning.
I'm also thankful the storm wasn't too bad, i was driving through the low-visibility everyone driving with flashers on so we could see each other part for only a short few miles.
My Sweetie bought shingles and nails for the roof and we're thankful #2 Son was able to replace the ones we'd lost. We're thankful he also sprayed them with sealant so as to make sure there's no leaks where the new and old ones meet.
I was thankful to finally get to see Ms. D and Ms. JAI on Monday. The last two times Ms. D had appointments and had me let myself in to work to her list, and Ms. JAI had to cancel for an appointment.
At Ms. D's this week, i'm thankful i figured out how to take the screen door glass out and clean it properly, it's been bugging me.
At Ms. JAI's, i signed her up for a free account so she can watch all the episodes of The Chosen from the beginning, and she's thankful as she's wanted to be able to do this for a while now.
D-i-L got into poison ivy while they were working on the back yard fence, so i was thankful on Tuesday, after watching little Annie for her while she worked, to be able to drive them both to the doc-in-a-box so she could get a steroid shot.
Our little Annie had a bit of an adventure. She has decided she likes to drink water from her sippy cup, and she got a little too ambitious, drank too much and was spitting it up until she couldn't hold anything down. We're thankful a quick trip to the doc and a bit of nausea meds sorted it all out.
Ms. G is thankful she got me on her Costco account, she can now send me to go get stuff when her back isn't up to it.
Our Thursday at Ms. SE's house was one of the easiest we've ever had, her mother had been in town and done most of the laundry. I'm thankful i only had to fold one big basket of clothes.
We're thankful #2 Son was successful at getting the RV into the back yard, the electricity works, and the water tank overflow valve functions. He's also thankful he now knows to get a flow regulator for the hose so the overflow valve won't have to do its thing again.
Ms. M, my Friday evening caretaking partner at the cat shelter, wasn't able to come this week, i'm thankful for two extra volunteers who made all the work go lickety-split.
Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Clark and his co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.

I learned this week that not only does making a list of things we are thankful for make us feel happier, but reading someone else's list also makes us feel happier. So thank you for your thank yous!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your Friday post!! Mr. Gray is most handsome but OMCs Annie is adorable. I'm so sorry about the scare with to much water. I would never have thought a child be that excited about a sippy cup.
ReplyDeleteHugs cecilia
Annie is too precious. What a doll. Glad she is okay from being water logged.
ReplyDeleteJava Bean: "Ayyy, it looks like things are shaping up for the House on Wheels!"
ReplyDeleteLulu: "Our friends Rosy and Sunny have a house on wheels. They go in it on trips with their Mama and Dada."
Charlee: "That's the only way I would ever want to go anywhere, if I could do it without leaving the house."
Lulu: "Well technically you would have to leave the main house to get to the house on wheels."
Charlee: "UNACCEPTABLE."
Chaplin: "We're glad the storms weren't too bad there! There's been lots of bad weather to go around this year!"
Happy to hear that the storm was not a bad one, but enabled you to watch the floats instead. I never heard of too much water to a toddler before, but we have to learn, Thanks for your lists.
ReplyDeleteGood to read your thankfuls once again, and pleased that little Annie's fine. Coq Au Vin day - you've just given me an idea!
ReplyDeleteLove your list of thankfullnesses - and am so glad that you have them.
ReplyDeleteThat was a nice list of thankful things. Poor little Annie drinking too much water. I'm glad she is okay.
ReplyDeleteLovely thankfuls and I am glad your roof is sealed and safe again.
ReplyDeleteWonderful thankful list. I am sorry Little Annie was sick from the sippy cup though. She is so darn cute. XO
ReplyDeleteSo a pretty good week overall. Little Annie will figure out the sippy cup. Sometimes the water just comes to fast. Even our Mom says she chokes sometimes on water.
ReplyDeleteThings seem to be falling into place nicely for the new arrival of son, DIL and baby Annie. We bet you are very excited.
Woos - Misty and Timber
Annie is so cute. I'm glad she's okay.
ReplyDeleteI've been absent from Blogger of late...Cyclone Alfred poked his nosey nose in, uninvited and unwelcome, causing much mayhem in the area…in South-East Queensland and its surrounds. Here on the hill in the Gold Coast Hinterland where I live, we lost power. I was without power for a week…some others for longer. We had no water (we’re not on town water supply here…we’re reliant on rainwater tanks, and the electric pumps that dispense said water); we’re septic, not sewerage, so no flushing toilets; contents of fridge and freezer had to be tossed out; no phones, television, etc., etc. Our local supermarket couldn’t open for a week because their generator wouldn’t work. I felt so sorry for them because they had to toss out so much food…so much.
ReplyDeleteThings are getting back on track, but the crews are still working hard, clearing away the debris caused by Alfie’s fury.
I'm thankful no damage was done to my humble little abode, but am so, so sorry for those who did receive structural damage to their properties.
