Optimism (Cajun Joke) and Feline Friday

(Because some people like Blogger and some like WordPress, i am putting the same content at both.  If you would prefer to read this on the other site, it is linked here.)

Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus has quit hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, don’t expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes.

Yesterday was the funeral of a lovely lady, friend, and client, Ms. B.  She was only 82.  The older i get, the younger that seems.

Ol’ Grand-père Boudreaux be 92 an’ he done got him a antique car jes’ like de one he drive when he firs’ learn.  It be his pride an’ joy, an’ he only gots him one mechanic in de town dat can fix it when it need sum’pin’.

One day he done pull up to de mechanic shop an’ he get out an’ look at de 42-year-old mechanic, den he shake his head an’ he say, “Mais!  I don’ know what I’s gonna do if’n you ever retire or die on me!  How will I get my car fixed den?”

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files.  It is now hosted by River at Drifting Through Life.

  2. Love the antique car and owner worrying about the younger mechanic. The gardens are lovely. the bright yellow is definitely a hibiscus, the one Oliver is photo-bombing looks like hosta going by the leaves and the pretty purple is one of the many varieties of sage, (salvia) I know this one as Mexican Sage, but I'm happy to be corrected. I love crepe myrtle too, don't see many white ones out here, we have the pinks and lately a few red ones have appeared.

  4. I know you'll miss your friend. You're right, I'm 67 and 82 doesn't seem all that old.

I always enjoy your Cajun jokes.

The garden shots are very pretty and that kitty is very cute.

Have a fabulous and blessed Sunday, my friend. ♥

  5. I was going to suggest that the pretty purple one might be lavender, altho' it is a bit different looking than mine, but that could just be variety. However, I could be persuaded to the sage argument as well. The point really is "pretty". :-D

Gran'pere reminded me of my friend's Dad, who at 85, decided to renew his drivers license for 5 years...

  7. That is funny. I know what you mean about aging and how 82 doesn't seem that old the closer we get to it. Beautiful flowers- and kitty.
