How Much Is That Lizard in the Window? (Feline Friday), Friendly Fill-Ins, Nature Friday and Flashback Friday

 ***********************************

Feline Friday was originally started by Steve, The Burnt Food Dude (may he rest in peace), and i'm going to believe it's because he liked cats.

He handed hosting duties off to Sandee at Comedy Plus, and now she's entrusting it to me.

Feline Friday is simple to join.  All you have to do is: Post a picture, drawing, cartoon or video of a cat (they may be silly or cute).  Then add your link!

One thing for sure is this is a fun and easy meme to do.  So come and join us in Feline Friday.

What better way to start the weekend than with a feline!

The three kitties in this room were trying to catch an anole lizard through the window of their colony room.  The orange boy gave up because the black one, his brother, kept climbing on him.  The photos are not good quality because i knew if i opened the door they'd be distracted and i wouldn't get the photos at all.

Friendly Fill-Ins are easy to do. There are four statements: the first two statements are provided by Ellen of 15AndMeowing, and the final two are offered by Lorianne The Menagerie Mom of Four-Legged Furballs. They try to make sure the statements will be fun to both answer and share. The linky will be posted at or about 12:00 AM on Friday. Please head over to one of their sites, link up, and share your thoughts!

Here are this week's statements with my responses underlined:

1. I am so not looking forward to _________.

2. _________ is surprisingly delicious.

3. I need a welcome sign at my front door that says _________.

4. I would _________ if it meant that I could _________.

1. I am so not looking forward to   the rest of this hot summer.

2. A spinach and banana smoothie   is surprisingly delicious.

3. I need a welcome sign at my front door that says   Girl Scouts Selling Cookies Welcome!

4. I would   enjoy summer a bit more   if it meant that I could   get a vacation.

Nature Friday is hosted by LLB in Our Backyard Simply post a picture of the natural world, and link up!

We got rain yesterday, and the skies were dark and threatening, there was plenty of thunder but most of the lightening was too the north of us.

Flashback Friday is hosted by FiveSibes Come hop along memory lane with us!

A flashback from Ms. G's Baby (a/k/a Wart, or  Widdow - pronounced like the word "little" with a heavy lisp).  When i'd pick up her rugs to vacuum under them, she'd come sit in the space and look around forlornly, even though i always put them back as soon as i was done.

*Yes, they celebrate a hot chocolate festival in the summer.  It all started when the 15th of August was a feast day on which the locals always drank a bit much, and the chocolatier of the town claimed his brew was a good remedy the day after.  The original festival on the 15th has ceased, but the hot chocolate is brewed to this day, served at 11am promptly.

  1. It was fun for them trying to get at the lizard. The orange boy probably realised they were wasting their time.

  2. It's so nice those kitties have a window. Even if they can't really catch anything, it keeps them busy trying for a while. Mom says any time of the year a vacation would be nice, but like you, being self employed means no real vacation since no one will pay you or do your work for you.

  3. Very interesting post about the kitties trying to grab a lizard on the other side of the glass! I noticed there was a third kitty trying to support his brotherin his endeavours. Now that's true brotherly love.

  7. That was a fun game for the kitties. Thank you for hosting Feline Friday and for participating in the fill-ins, great answers, but I wish you could have a vacation as you deserve it more than anyone I know of. Cats don't like any changes. :) XO

  12. Very very thankful we don't have lizards around our yard...at least they don't show their faces.
I'm not really afraid of them they just move too quickly

  13. If anyone seriously wants a sign, I just put one up on Zazzle. They'll fit the design to different sizes and shapes, flags, or doormats. Link intentionally broken so it can't be inadvertently clicked like spam...

  15. Those kitties were so intense, I am surprised they would notice if you walked up to them. Well, the orange one would, but seems like they can get highly wrapped up in hunting!

We have a sign at our door that says "Welcome to Our Retreat". It's generally the place we like the best, and can get away from (most) of the crazy-ness...

  20. Those kitties sure were having fun watching that lizard! We have never tried a banana and spinach smoothie. In any case, we bet it is refreshing during these hot summer months. Thank you for hosting, Mimi! :)

  21. I'd give up if someone kept climbing on top of me, too. LOL. I wish I could eat bananas. I love them, but I'm allergic to them. I add kale to my berry smoothies and it is good. I can't taste the kale at all. Have a great weekend. :)
