For Musical Instrument Day
teacher asked kids to design
each an instrument costume,
letting imaginations shine.
One little boy worked very hard
and said he was a harp,
the teacher told him harps were bigger
though she didn't mean to carp.
"So you're saying,' he then answered,
"my design of wood and wire
is in fact not a cleverly done harp,
you're calling me a lyre!"

He played the sax so badly,
for the worst ever he was a contender,
hearing him was hard on the ears,
he was a terrible sax offender.

ReplyDeleteWe are being very quiet so as not to disturb Lulu and Abby - we have been doing the same thing - lying on those cool tiles to escape the horrible Kansas heat.

ReplyDeletethe pups look quite happy. We had a large tom cat w/thick black fur. He assumed this position a lot in the heat. He also sprawls on his tummy.
